Seasons of Alyssa
by carmend, about 1 month agoMy friend Alyssa loves the library. In fact, she loves it so much that our friends held her surprise 29th birthday celebration at our local Pacific Beach/Taylor Library branch.
Alyssa is a big fan of musicals, and her favorites are Les Miserables and Rent. With help from our friendly librarians, we were able to borrow the conference room in the library and put on a performances of her favorite songs with custom Alyssa and Todd lyrics (Todd was her precious senior dog). Our friends worked hard to write, choreograph, and rehearse the dance numbers for weeks.
The library was the... Continue reading

Inter Library Loan
by JohnE24, about 1 month agoI was looking for some music books so that I could use them for research. I couldn't find these books at my local library. However, I got lucky through the inter library loan program. One of these books came from a library in San Diego and the other book came from San Francisco. That's right, just because I requested that book, the library in San Francisco sent this book to the County Library in Encinitas. I was so impressed. Months later, I'm still impressed! -

Postpartum Support
by Marie, about 1 month agoDuring my postpartum, I developed some physical complications that led to debilitating pain. I could hardly move down the hall so going out wasn’t much of an option. But the library Libby program allowed me to download books onto my kindle. It was a much needed reprieve. Those books and stories kept creativity, imagination, wonder, goodness, hope and adventure alive for me in what was a very challenging time for our family. I am so incredibly grateful to the library for their dedication to those in our community and for their dedication to accessibility.

A great benefit to the community!
by Daniel Flores, about 1 month agoThe local Fallbrook Library, part of the San Diego County Library system, is a great library. It serves the community in many ways, from books, movies, music to check out to enjoy at home, to providing meeting rooms for community functions and concerts. I use the library mainly to listen to books on audio, as I am going through a list of books categorized as classics. I also get movies on DVD and other CDs to listen to other current books on business, self improvement, learning different languages. I appreciate the library, because it's near and convenient and helps me... Continue reading -

Our Homeschool Getaway Space
by jrodden, about 1 month agoWe regularly have 40 items checked out at once! Having free books available to check out each month has enhanced our homeschooling experience tremendously!!!We don't take the library resources for granted & love the feature that allows us to get books from other cities if we don't have it here in SD.

Library Luv
by <3, about 1 month agoMy kids and I adore going to the library together. They’re able to socialize with other children from all different backgrounds and cultures. It serves as a little sanctuary for us in this crazy world of technology. Nice to slow down for a bit and read a good book, work on a puzzle, and spend some time outside enjoying the beautiful grounds. Best part- it’s all free! Everyone is welcome. -
