The County of San Diego wants your feedback on how to improve recycling for homes and businesses and keep recyclable materials out of the landfill in the unincorporated areas.

Your feedback on the draft plan will help improve trash, recycling, and food and yard waste services, shape future education and outreach efforts, and inform updates to the County's Strategic Plan to Reduce Waste, which will be presented to the Board of Supervisors in late 2027.

Ask a Question

We welcome your questions as part of shaping the County of San Diego’s path toward a more sustainable future. Reaching our goal of 90% waste diversion by 2045 will require collaboration. This space is an opportunity for you to ask a question about the plan, proposed strategies, or how changes may impact your community.

All questions will be carefully reviewed and considered as part of the planning process. While we may not be able to respond to each submission individually, common themes and responses will be shared publicly. Please note that questions may be added to the FAQ. These will be anonymized to protect any personal information.
