    Libraries are My Safe Place

by Lschrader60, about 2 months ago
I never had what I would call a secure childhood. I found early on that a library provided a world of escape. I could walk through those doors and find stories about lives and worlds different from mine. It didn't matter if it was a school library or public library the feeling is the same. I still get that feeling to this day as a 50+ woman. I still love my public library and value the fact that I can go in and check out any book and live a different story.

The thrill of the hunt searching for new library titles is always an adventure. But when that search comes up dry, the Link+ service is a great resource for acquiring books that are not at the local library's collection. I love that the library offers this service, I use it all the time!

    Wide Range of Resources

by Lily, about 2 months ago

We are a homeschool family, and I appreciate the ability to request vast resources both from local libraries and from Link+ to support the rich education I strive to provide to my four daughters. After requesting huge numbers of books, I evaluate them for age and content appropriateness, then choose which to read aloud to my girls, and which to make available for personal reading. We also add some of the books to our "quick picks" reading baskets around the house, where my children's interest is piqued and knowledge grows, even with just a minute or two invested. I especially... Continue reading

It's All about the Yoga and E-Books!

by Yogi and Bookworm, about 2 months ago

I have had the same library card for 19 years now, and in that time it has seen a lot! I couldn't imagine not having the Fallbrook library around! I love the sheer amount of unique classes they offer to the public, such as yoga and Zumba, which have been so enriching for my husband and myself.

The E-Books especially have been a game changer for me! I love self help and young-adult romance fantasies, so I get my reading fix constantly with the E-Books. I often max out the amount you can check out online, but I love that... Continue reading

Other than borrowing books, the library is my place for printing! From resume to important legal documents, I'm glad to have the library with printing services available, and helpful staff to help me navigate how to use them! Shoutout to La Mesa branch library, thank you!

Enrichment from a plethora of e-books

by Jamie, about 2 months ago
I love having my library card with the San Diego County library! I use my library card to check out different e-books that nourishes of my interests. I've borrowed e-books from America's Test Kitchen to learn about diverse, healthy plant-based recipes that support gut and heart health. I've borrowed books to learn about different cultures, countries, U.S. cities, and religions learn about the differences that shape global societies. Recently, I have been enjoying reading e-books with descriptive diction and rich vocabulary to supplement my own vocabulary and deepen my own creativity. Thank you, San Diego Couny Library, for maintaining and... Continue reading

Have been reading eBooks from the PL for many years. No driving, no walking the aisles, not returning books, no overdue books, fees, etc. A great institution. One an even ask for books and authors to be sourced.

I've lived in Fallbrook most of my life and I've had a library card for thirteen years, I actually use the very same one to this day. The Fallbrook Library is welcoming and those who work there are always friendly and willing to help.

    Outing with my Nanny

by Elizabeth, about 2 months ago

My name is Elizabeth, I am a private Nanny and I love my Kids. My kids call me “ Bess”.
The library is important to me because it is a way to provide interaction with other children for my little ones that do not attend preschool or daycare outside the home. We attend music time on Mondays and story time on Wednesdays at the Fallbrook branch of San Diego County Library system. Both activities provide different learning experiences for my littles. Within these activities at the library my littles learn life lessons such as listening skills, following rules, sharing, respect... Continue reading
