We love the San Diego Country Library

Hello!

This is Alexis, and I currently live in El Cajon. We usually go to this branch; however, we have also been to La Mesa and Santee libraries. We love the El Cajon branch for many reasons. One of them is the staff's friendliness and helpfulness. They have a great selection of children's books, and my 3-year-old loves playing in the kids' section with the toy kitchen, building blocks, and dollhouse. She really enjoys her time there. She loves it when we read, too. Therefore, we check out lots of books every time we go. She's really into ballet now, and we discovered a great selection of ballet books for kids, such as The Very Young Person's Guide to Ballet Music. I usually go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays because they close at 7 pm, and I quit work at 5 pm. We also go on the weekends. My 12-year-old likes manga, and they have all her favorites.

The Santee branch is really nice as well, and has a bigger selection for adult readers. The children's section is a bit smaller, but it offers amazing learning resources for toddlers, such as magnetic mazes. My daughter also loves sitting on the sofa with me to read.

Another thing I love about the San Diego County Library is the opportunity to borrow books from Libby and download them to my Kindle. There is an ample selection of ebooks and audiobooks. If you have the Libby app and place books on hold, it notifies you when they become available. Additionally, if you don't remember your due date, the system automatically returns it, helping you avoid late fees.

You can also get free passes to a variety of museums through your SDCL card. I was able to visit The New Children's Museum for free, thanks to Discover & Go. I just can't express how grateful I am for having all of these resources. Thank you from my family and me!
