Rural access to resources and community

Living intergenerationally and providing light caregiving for my elderly parent, I deeply appreciate having access to my local library. As a rural North County resident, I love having a welcoming space where I can regroup, learn, and relax. It's a great free and safe 'third space' where I can read a magazine, do some writing, or enjoy the surroundings. The Valley Center library staff are so kind and knowledgeable.

I love connecting with all San Diego County libraries and have attended community events (meet the author, arts/creative economy workshops, etc) at the Encinitas branch, too.

Here's to our libraries! May they continue to provide us with a way to build community and thrive!

We love the San Diego Country Library

Hello!This is Alexis, and I currently live in El Cajon. We usually go to this branch; however, we have also been to La Mesa and Santee libraries. We love the El Cajon branch for many reasons. One of them is the staff's friendliness and helpfulness. They have a great selection of children's books, and my 3-year-old loves playing in the kids' section with the toy kitchen, building blocks, and dollhouse. She really enjoys her time there.
