The library: A sacred home away from home
I am at the library several times a week, all over the county. I am a single mom that works primarily remotely. I prefer to work around others and focus best at the library. I also can bring my daughter with me and she finds other kids to socialize with, tons of books to read, and engaging programs on the computer. I like to attend library programs like arts and crafts, Lego club, and holiday events. Sometimes when I just don't know where to go, and I don't want to be at home alone, I go to the library and see what's happening. My daughter has played chess at the library, created music, learned about technology, and more. On a practical level, I do a lot of printing at the library. It feels like a little piece of home, somewhere to go and just be. The library is sacred.
