Finding my space

SDCL has been part of my life since I was a child, going to the library with my mother and siblings and picking out new books to read, movies to watch, at one point video games to play. I never thought it would have such a huge impact on me, reviving my love for reading, volunteer work igniting my love and devotion to libraries. I get to work with so many people from different backgrounds than my own and give back to a community that shaped me into who I am today.
libraries are the corner stones of any society, they give and expect nothing back, provide spaces for all and resources for everyone.
I found a home in the library, and SDCL helped me find my path in my studies and life.

Childhood

Hello! I love going to libraries. I like working there in the quiet, having my books checked out, and taking advantage of the crafting room. My boyfriend and I also LOVE doing Swing Dance Under the Dome. I was devastated to hear the new time hours because I know people rely on it. The library: A sacred home away from home

I am at the library several times a week, all over the county. I am a single mom that works primarily remotely. I prefer to work around others and focus best at the library. I also can bring my daughter with me and she finds other kids to socialize with, tons of books to read, and engaging programs on the computer.
