My visits to San Marcos Public Library

I enjoy visiting the San Marcos library about twice a month. I usually picks up books or movies I have requested online that are ready for pick up. While I am there, I may also look at some of the carousels of books on display on any variety of topics. Sometimes, I might use a computer to look up a topic of interest to see if there is anything of interest on the shelf.

What I like most about the library is the ability to request books and other items online, and also renew items online. Also, I like that they offer new movies on dvd, as well as recent best sellers. And I have found that much of what I am interested in can be found at one of the branches, so it’s rare that I have to purchase a book elsewhere, that I’m probably only going to read once.

I also like the little Friends of San Marcos Library used book store, where i often donate items I no longer need, or once in awhile, grab something that looks interesting, for less than a dollar.

I am so glad to have a public library close to my home that I can enjoy.

A quality place to relax and spend a few hours

One afternoon I was out with my family including my two children ages 8 and 10. We had been out for lunch and found ourselves with some time to kill until our evening appointment yet were too far from home to go home and drive back. We all needed a place to relax for an hour or so and didn't want to go to a cafe and eat or spend money anywhere else. Free Resources to the Community

The library has been a resource I have enjoyed since I was a kid. I have so many fond memories of family trips to the library with my siblings--even taking the public transportation to the library together as we got older, just to peruse the shelves and collect our own stack of reading material. Librarians are quiet heros--able to direct people of all ages to materials that can help better their lives. As an adult I use the library for occasional community events, checking out books, etc.
