The County of San Diego strives to give all businesses and organizations an opportunity to do business with the County.
To help boost efforts, the County is gathering feedback to find out what businesses and organizations need to successfully bid on providing goods and services to keep County government running.
This feedback will be used to improve the County's procurement and contracting program and to increase the diversity of businesses and organizations that successfully bid for County contracts, particularly local small businesses.
In Fall 2024, we asked the business community for their feedback on how to make procurement and contracting better. Based on what we heard and other feedback, we are focusing on:
Labor standards
Sustainable procurement
Supporting small businesses
Creating equity-focused policies
Developing and implementing equity-focused practices
Community engagement
