The Library: World’s Best Parenting Hack

Every few weeks, I use the SDCL app to place holds on 20-30 books to read to my toddler. We go pick them up together and as soon as we get home, she wants to read them ALL! I’m so thankful for the staff at the Vista Library who help bring the world to my family through books! My child is growing a love for reading, learning, and using her imagination. She’s seeing so much of the world through the eyes of every storyteller, and imagining all the possibilities for her future. We make sure to check out books about our culture and other cultures aroundholiday times, like Lunar New Year, Diwali, Dia de los Muertos, Dragon Boat Festival, Passover, Sukkot, Eid, and Ramadan, so she can glimpse at the many traditions of the world. We also use books to help us through big changes, and all the normal hurdles of growing up. Our library is a treasure trove: an endless source of inspiration, education, beauty, and support. I’m so thankful.
