I’ve been going to the library ever since I was a kid. I fell in love with the library because I could check books out without having to pay for any of it. All I had to do was scan my library card and the books were temporarily mine. I grew up with older parents and we were poor so having that library card made me feel rich. My parents couldn’t afford a computer for me to do my school work so I loved that the library also gave me access to finish my work and if I needed to print anything, I could. Now as a parent myself, I still love the library for many reasons. The library has definitely had some great upgrades such as you don’t have to go back to the library to renew your book(s) every month. It automatically renews until you return the book. You can also download books on their Libby app if you don’t want to hold a physical book in your hand. The library is truly a safe place where anyone from any age can have access to free information and resources. The library is my go to for events going on in the community as well. The library is truly a hidden gem.
