Every story counts and so does yours

When I was a child, my mother used to take my sibling and me to the library. It was one of the few places where we felt safe and free to nurture our curiosity. My family navigated many challenging and uncertain moments, and knowing that our local library was a place we could return to, a place that felt like home, made bearing those times a little easier.

Now, as I enter a new chapter in my leadership journey, I am excited to deepen my service to community. When I am ready to run for the U.S. presidency, I will be proud to share that my drive, commitment to service, research abilities, and leadership were significantly shaped and nourished by local libraries.

Regardless of the outcome, this one person, someone some might deem a “nobody”, was indeed a somebody with a story, and with a deep respect for the stories of others as well. I learned this from one of the best: libraries, which give endlessly and generously to their communities in ways both seen and unseen.
