Between the Stacks
The library has always been a steady, familiar place in my life. As a kid, it was where I went to find books that went beyond what my school had on its shelves, and where friends and I met to work on school projects or play chess after class. It was also where I was first introduced to parts of the internet by friends, and where access to a computer or a printer made a real difference when I needed it.
In college, the library became something quieter and more intentional, a place to focus, think, and get work done without distraction. That sense of calm and purpose is something I’ve carried with me into adulthood.
Now, I find myself returning in a different way. Sometimes it’s to drop off books I’ve picked up and want to pass along to my community. Other times, it’s simply to stop by, occasionally joining a friend who makes the most of the library’s local events and offerings. It’s a reminder that libraries aren’t just about books or resources, but about shared spaces that adapt with you over time, quietly supporting each stage of life.
