11/19/25 Board of Supervisors Hearing, Housing Forward Recap: What We Learned

On November 19, 2025, staff from Planning and Development Services and Housing and Community Development Services presented an update on the regional housing crisis, and related County efforts towards land use. The Board and staff discussed ongoing challenges related to housing affordability and production and provided insights on their priorities. Board members reinforced the County’s Community Development Model, by highlighting their interest of prioritizing growth within our Village Cores. There was strong consensus amongst the Board for exploring innovative housing options, encouraging mixed-use, and strengthening our General Plan by aligning County policies with State mandates to support sustainable development.
