On November 18, 2025, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to explore ways to make the most of the resources at the academy. The Board directed a robust engagement effort to provide recommendations on how to best serve foster youth, use the campus effectively, and keep programs financially sustainable. This decision allows the County to work closely with experts, advocates, and community leaders to give input on the best options for supporting foster youth at the Academy.
