Climate Workforce Study Released March 2

On March 2, as part of its integrated Regional Decarbonization Framework (RDF), the County will release a climate workforce study titled "Putting the San Diego Region on the High Road: Climate Workforce Recommendations for 2030 and 2050." The study shows how regional climate policy can generate safe, family-sustaining career-track jobs; broaden professional and economic opportunities for workers from underrepresented communities; and support workers and communities whose livelihoods depend on carbon-intensive industries at risk of decline as decarbonization proceeds. This document is available on the RDF website and public comment will be accepted until May 31, 2022.

At the County Board of Supervisors meeting on Wednesday, March 16, the study will be presented as part of an RDF update. Instructions for participating in the Board meeting are available on the Clerk of the Board’s website.

We welcome your input on this draft document, either through our website or email ZeroCarbon@SDCounty.ca.gov, or by mailing the RDF Team at 1600 Pacific Hwy., Room 212, San Diego, CA 92101.
