Generational Third Spaces in our Community

The library is sometimes my family's only third space. As someone who grew up in poverty as a first generation American in an immigrant household, there were no trips to Disney, schools were closed during the summer, and depending on the weather parks, beaches, or the mall were not always the easiest to weather a storm for. Whimsical Place

I like the library's system of requests. For example, if there is a book that is not in your local library, you can still order or request it and it will be transferred from another library to my local place so I can pick it up.I love Logan high library because it has a specific sections that celebrate or highlights a theme. For example they have a separate/isolated section about human trafficking with so many resources and books. That way I can just go and pick any instead of going to the shelves and getting lost with the alphabetization. And…
