Many ways to enjoy the LIbrary
The Library matters to me, first of all, because I love to read.
I belong to the Tuesday evening book discussion group at the Serra Mesa/Kearny Mesa Library. The staff members there are wonderful about getting books for us. We enjoy getting together once a month at the Library to discuss our book of the month. The Covid shutdown did not stop us. As soon as the Library staff were able to bring books out to us, with the help of the staff we started meeting on Zoom.
The Library has a good collection of audio books on CD that I enjoy listening to in my car.
I also use and very much appreciate the online Library services to check out and read e-books and listen to audio books on my tablet. I appreciate the convenience of being able to check out books any time, day or night, from any location. (Stuck at the mechanic’s-down load a book!)
When I mentored two brothers through San Diego County Foster Youth Mentor Program, I often brought the boys to the Library to work on their homework for school. The boys each got a Library card and were able to check out books to read and boys learned to do research on the Library computers. The boys had a lot of fun coming to the Lego sessions at the Library.
When the Serra Mesa/Kearny Mesa Library hosted a San Diego Fix-it Clinic I was able to get a decorative LED light repaired at no cost.
Thank you for your contribution!
