Capital Plan 2027 - 2032

The County is dedicated to providing facilities that serve the needs of the community and strengthen the quality of life for all. Parks, live well centers, and fire stations are examples of facilities that support our communities and staff. The County has a five-year plan to build and improve facilities. This plan helps us fix older buildings and get ready for future needs so residents can keep getting essential services.

Each year, we review and update our plan for potential capital projects through a process called the Capital Improvement Needs Assessment (CINA) or "Capital Plan" for short.

Capital projects together make up the Capital Plan and can include new construction or renovation of existing County buildings, recreation centers, sheriff stations or the purchase of land to build parks.

We consider the following when developing the Capital Plan:

• What we’ve heard from our communities
• The condition of existing facilities (e.g., overall state or quality of a building)
• County needs to operate
• How the capital project aligns with County goals and values
• How prepared a project is to get started (e.g., design has been completed)
• Available funds

Curious about future County projects? County departments have program-focused master plans and strategic facility plans. These plans provide long-range planning for the County.

Click here to review a summary of future capital projects. These projects are outside the 5-year implementation threshold and will transition to future versions of the Capital Plan as resources become available.

In addition to the Capital Plan, we also forecast repairs and maintenance of our existing facilities through a program called the Major Maintenance Implementation Plan (or “MMIP” for short). This 2-year plan identifies critical repairs needed at County sites, facility structures, and major building systems like mechanical, electrical, and plumbing that support ongoing operational needs. Check back later this year for the Fiscal Year 27-28 MMIP!
