ABOUT OTAY VALLEY REGIONAL PARK

As part of the Otay Valley Regional Park Concept Plan, the County of San Diego is developing a 45-acre park between Interstates 5 and 805. This park project includes the preliminary design plan for active recreation amenities that will appeal to residents of all ages, interests and abilities. Examples include soccer fields, all-wheel features, an amphitheater, a community center, a playground, a disc golf course, a dog park, a community garden, nature trails, and accessible restrooms and parking. The project will also include a thorough environmental review in accordance with state guidelines to protect open space, conserved lands and wildlife, and historic, agricultural, and archaeological resources.

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

Public feedback was critical to planning the Regional Park, and we want that to continue. Your input will help us determine what recreational amenities should be added to the design concept for Active Recreation Area 3.

Goals for this project are to provide a mix of open space, preserve land, trails and recreational amenities in this 45-acre parcel, while protecting environmentally and culturally sensitive areas, maintaining scenic viewpoints and encouraging compatible agricultural uses.

The County is seeking feedback on how residents would like to use this park, and what amenities should be added. Examples of amenities include ballfields, sports courts, playgrounds, fitness apparatus and community gardens.
