What is an ordinance?
An ordinance is a law enacted by a local government (e.g. City Council, Board of Supervisors). Local ordinances can be more restrictive than State statues or federal policies but cannot be less restrictive.
Is there an existing unauthorized camping ordinance?
Yes, there currently is an existing regulatory code Section 73.108 that states, " No person shall camp in any public park, or any public street or highway, or on any improved or unimproved property owned or leased by the County, provided that nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit camping in public campgrounds under permit authorized by other provisions of law or ordinance.
