Where is the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park located?
The Regional Park is located just north of the California-Mexico border, the busiest border crossing in North America, and located south of some of San Diego’s busiest urban neighborhood, known as South Bay.
Where will the proposed Community Park be located?
The Community Park will be located at the northern edge of the Regional Park, near the Southwest Little League field and the Tijuana River Valley Community Garden at the intersection of Hollister Road and Sunset Avenue.
Which communities are surrounding the proposed Community Park?
The Community Park is directly surrounded by the communities of South Bay, including Bonita, Chula Vista, East Otay Mesa, Imperial Beach, Lincoln Acres, National City, San Ysidro, and South San Diego.
What kind of recreational amenities can we expect to see?
The Community Park may feature a variety of recreational amenities aimed at offering enjoyment and opportunities for leisure. These could include spaces for active sports, play areas for children, scenic trails for walking or biking, and convenient facilities such as restrooms and parking.
What is the difference between active and passive recreation?

Will the environmental impacts of the proposed recreational options be reviewed?
The project will include a thorough environmental review in accordance with State guidelines to protect open space, conserved lands and wildlife, and historic, agricultural, and archaeological resources. The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation works every day to balance recreation opportunities with efforts to protect native habitats, local wildlife and areas of historical and cultural significance.
