Consultation has concluded
To advance the County’s efforts to prevent and end homelessness, the County has drafted a Homelessness Solutions and Prevention Action Plan (Action Plan). The draft Action Plan outlines the County’s strategies to impact homelessness regionally.
Community input has been vital to the development of the draft Action Plan to date, and we want that to continue hearing from the community. The draft Action Plan is posted directly below for public input from August 22 to September 30. Relevant feedback on the draft Action Plan will be incorporated. A final Action Plan is anticipated in Fall 2023.
Background
The County of San Diego Board of Supervisors (Board) leads significant actions to prevent and end homelessness. Specifically, in July 2021, the Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities (HSEC) was established as the centralized point for collaborative efforts to end homelessness. In November 2021, the Board adopted the County’s Framework for Ending Homelessness (Framework) which provides a strategic vision across the County enterprise on preventing and ending homelessness.
To advance the Framework’s strategic vision into measurable priorities and expected outcomes the County in collaboration with consultant Homebase, has developed the draft Action Plan. The draft Action Plan outlines the County’s strategies to impact homelessness regionally and is aligned with the objectives of federal, state, regional, and local strategic plans. The draft Action Plan reflects robust stakeholder feedback, including persons with lived experience of homelessness.
