The County plans to study if and how artificial intelligence (AI) can be safely used to improve the County&rsquo;s IT systems, the lives of County residents, and the overall public good.And we want to know what you think. Examples of IA technology include ChatGPT, tools created by Google and Microsoft, and more. The County has created an ad-hoc subcommittee that includes Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Nora Vargas and Supervisor Joel Anderson.The group will meet publicly to hear, collect, and review information about artificial intelligence and how it may be used at three meetings, beginning Wednesday, Oct.16, 2024.The group is expected to present findings and make appropriate recommendations for future actions to the full Board of Supervisors in February 2025.Your input is vital. Your questions and comments will be provided to the Board for their consideration.Background:Artificial Intelligence (AI) enables machines to do tasks resembling what humans would do. It does this through things such as repetitive learning and data. AI has been used in computer-based automation for years, such as virtual assistants like Alexa, or email or text systems that use predictive logic to suggest appropriate responses. That technology has and continues to advance rapidly. ChatGPT has become the most downloaded application in history. The County and Artificial Intelligence 

The Socially Equitable Cannabis Program (Cannabis Program) will allow for a suite of commercial cannabis operations in the unincorporated area of the County.

Cannabis Program 

The County is committed to achieving a sustainable future for San Diego. The County is responding to the climate emergency through a variety of efforts. These efforts include actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from County operations like the San Diego County Airport System.The County operates the San Diego County Airport System (System). The System includes eight airports - Gillespie Field, McClellan-Palomar, Fallbrook, Ramona, Ocotillo Wells, Borrego Valley, Jacumba, and Aqua Caliente. As part of the County&#39;s sustainability efforts, it is developing a sustainability management plan for the System. The plan will outline actions to reduce resource consumption, environmental impacts, and GHG emissions. Airports Sustainability Management Plan 

<h1 class="fr-text-bordered" style="text-align: center; margin-left: 60px;">The San Diego County Citizens&rsquo; Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) Wants Your Input!</h1>Purpose of the Project The Citizens&rsquo; Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) is currently developing its goals for 2025, and your input is critical in shaping our priorities. We are eager to hear your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions on how we can enhance our work. By gathering insights from stakeholders like you, CLERB&rsquo;s staff and board members will be better positioned to set meaningful goals for 2025. Your feedback will also help us identify the resources, staffing, and tools needed to meet these objectives. Our goal is to work in collaboration with the community to develop goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART). Together, we can strengthen our efforts and better serve our community.Primary Objectives:<ul><li>Raise awareness of CLERB and its role in the community.</li><li>Gather feedback from a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure broad representation.</li><li>Align our key priorities with community input.</li></ul>How Can You Participate? Citizens' Law Enforcement Review Board 2025 Goals

The <a href="https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/hhsa/programs/phs/immunization_branch/index.html">Immunization Unit</a> within the Epidemiology and Immunization Services Branch (EISB) received funding through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (<a href="https://www.cdc.gov/reach/php/about/index.html">REACH</a>) project. The purpose of the REACH funding is to increase awareness, confidence, demand, and access to flu and COVID-19 vaccines.What is the V-KAB Survey?<ul><li>The Vaccine Knowledge, Attitudes, and Beliefs (V-KAB) survey was created to help the Immunization Unit understand how people in our community think and feel about vaccines and why people do or don&rsquo;t get vaccines. </li><li>The answers from the survey will help create better information and messages about vaccines for everyone in the County. Vaccine campaigns will be designed based on what we learn from the survey results.</li></ul>How Can Health Messages Fit San Diego&#39;s Different Cultures and Neighborhoods?<ul><li>The purpose of engaging the community is to identify if differences in knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs exist in communities based on cultural/racial/ethnic or geographic locations. Since San Diego has such a diverse population, we aim to determine how or if messaging should be tailored based on race/ethnicity and zip codes.</li><li>Based on the responses from the survey, if it is apparent that the responses tend to be similar for groups that share race/ethnicity or zip codes, then tailored messages will be developed to address the knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and barriers of each specific group so they feel heard and see themselves and hear their concerns being addressed.</li><li>A new COVID-19, flu, and other adult vaccine campaigns will be developed in September/October.
