Fire inspections help keep property owners and the community safe. County Fire reviews residential and commercial projects in the San Diego County and Deer Springs Fire Protection Districts to ensure they meet the County and California Fire Code. Fire fees have not increased since 2020, but they are necessary to maintain services and cover the costs of staff conducting these reviews.
Fees apply to individuals or agencies requesting permits for:
Residential
Commercial
Tenant Improvements
Gates
Grading
Special Events
Fire staff also conducts free annual business and state-mandated inspections. County Fire is proposing charging fees for inspections to offset costs starting July 1, 2025. This proposal does not change fees for other unincorporated fire districts.
County Fire would like your input on how these fee increases could impact you, so that we can relay your input to the Board of Supervisors before a decision is finalized.
