The County plans to study if and how artificial intelligence (AI) can be safely used to improve the County&rsquo;s IT systems, the lives of County residents, and the overall public good.And we want to know what you think. Examples of IA technology include ChatGPT, tools created by Google and Microsoft, and more. The County has created an ad-hoc subcommittee that includes Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Nora Vargas and Supervisor Joel Anderson.The group will meet publicly to hear, collect, and review information about artificial intelligence and how it may be used at three meetings, beginning Wednesday, Oct.16, 2024.The group is expected to present findings and make appropriate recommendations for future actions to the full Board of Supervisors in February 2025.Your input is vital. Your questions and comments will be provided to the Board for their consideration.Background:Artificial Intelligence (AI) enables machines to do tasks resembling what humans would do. It does this through things such as repetitive learning and data. AI has been used in computer-based automation for years, such as virtual assistants like Alexa, or email or text systems that use predictive logic to suggest appropriate responses. That technology has and continues to advance rapidly. ChatGPT has become the most downloaded application in history. The County and Artificial Intelligence 

The County is committed to ending homelessness in San Diego. As part of this commitment, the County provides critical emergency housing options. These options directly assist people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Since 2022, the County has been exploring emergency housing options as part of the Compassionate Emergency Solutions and Pathways to Housing Implementation Plan. The plan outlined community desire for non-congregate shelters such as sleeping cabins, safe parking and RV parking options. The County reviewed the viability of several sites in the unincorporated County. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved a site at the corner of Troy Street and Sweetwater Road - this is a Caltrans owned property located in the City of Lemon Grove. The site can host up to 70 sleeping cabins, restrooms, laundry, and onsite services. Onsite services include case management, housing navigation to permanent housing options, access to behavioral health services for those who have the needs, access to public benefits, employment or support with disability benefits, credit repair and other supportive services. A full list of the proposed services can be reviewed in the FAQ section of this page. Community input has been vital to the County&#39;s efforts to expand emergency shelter options, and we want that to continue. The Socially Equitable Cannabis Program (Cannabis Program) will allow for a suite of commercial cannabis operations in the unincorporated area of the County.

Cannabis Program 

The County is committed to achieving a sustainable future for San Diego. The County is responding to the climate emergency through a variety of efforts. These efforts include actions to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from County operations like the San Diego County Airport System.The County operates the San Diego County Airport System (System). The System includes eight airports - Gillespie Field, McClellan-Palomar, Fallbrook, Ramona, Ocotillo Wells, Borrego Valley, Jacumba, and Aqua Caliente. As part of the County&#39;s sustainability efforts, it is developing a sustainability management plan for the System. The plan will outline actions to reduce resource consumption, environmental impacts, and GHG emissions. <h1 class="fr-text-bordered" style="text-align: center; margin-left: 60px;">The San Diego County Citizens&rsquo; Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) Wants Your Input!</h1>Purpose of the Project The Citizens&rsquo; Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) is currently developing its goals for 2025, and your input is critical in shaping our priorities. We are eager to hear your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions on how we can enhance our work. By gathering insights from stakeholders like you, CLERB&rsquo;s staff and board members will be better positioned to set meaningful goals for 2025. Your feedback will also help us identify the resources, staffing, and tools needed to meet these objectives. Our goal is to work in collaboration with the community to develop goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART).
