Report Back on the Impacts of Large AI Data Centers Now Available

The Report Back on the Potential Impacts Associated with Large Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Centers is now available. This report was directed by the Board of Supervisors on January 14, 2026.

The report identifies potential impacts of large-scale data centers and explores options to address these impacts. Options discussed in the report include changes to land use policy, legislative advocacy, and workforce development programs. Additional options not specifically addressed in the report may also be considered.

The report has been shared with the Board of Supervisors to complete the Board direction from January 14, 2026. Any further action on data centers would require a new public hearing. For information about future public hearings, upcoming agendas, and instructions on how to participate, please visit the Clerk of the Board website.
