Linda Vista Community Climate Conversation

Brief Description: The Community Climate Conversation is an event celebrating how to turn private property into a tree planting location. This free, family-friendly, and fun event will feature education on the Regional Decarbonization Framework (RDF), the importance of trees, and how community members can be stewards of trees. The event will feature three hands-on activities that the community will be invited to participate in: planting a tree in the ground, planting a tree in a barrel or container, and gardening / harvesting in the on-site production garden. Food, activities, and resources will be on site and available for all. Join us to learn more about Community Climate Conversations and the importance of tree planting as a tool in supporting the Regional Decarbonization Framework. The event will be led by Bayside Community Center in partnership with Urban Collaborative Project, Advancing Students Forward (host site), the County of San Diego, and various community-based organizations and community members.

Brief Description
The Urban Greening Community Open House is an event celebrating existing green spaces and planning for the addition of other green spaces, tree spaces, and community led maintenance in Southeastern San Diego, specifically for the neighborhoods of Chollas View, Emerald Hills, and Lincoln Park. This free family-friendly and fun event will feature indigenous teachings for land and water stewardship, development of community led maintenance for green spaces, opportunities to provide feedback on conceptual designs of urban green spaces, tree giveaways, and much more. Food, music and resources will be on site and available for all. Join us to learn more about the Community Planning Collaborative for a Green Southeastern San Diego, a planning project funded by the Transformative Climate Communities led by UCP and various community-based organizations and community members
