Results of Public Comment

Thank you so much to everyone who shared feedback during the 2026 Legislative Program public comment period. You can now review all of the 2026 Legislative Program public comments and EDGA’s analysis of the comments and participant demographics.

We received 189 comments in total, and 45 people participated in our virtual community forum on August 27. That is over twice as much participation as last year! Comments came from almost 45% of County zip codes, representing a wide range of people from all over our region.


The County's 2025 Legislative Program had 16 priority issues. On Engage San Diego and during the Community Forum, we asked participants to rate their top three priority issues. Overall, the top 3 priority issues cited were:

  1. Affordable housing
  2. Homelessness
  3. Climate change and the environment
Other themes that commonly appeared were cost of living, government accountability, local industry, and protecting vulnerable communities.
